Local, Trustworthy

Our Promise: We'll Take Care of You The Way We'd Take Care of Our Own Family.

Harbin Home Outfitters was founded when our own family experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find trustworthy, clinically informed accessibility solutions when they are needed most.

We're not just installers. We're a team led by registered nursing and medical social work experience, focused on making accessibility decisions easier, safer, and more practical for the families we serve.

We serve Escambia County and Northwest Florida from our headquarters in Fairhope, Alabama. When you need an assessment, we can meet with you in person or virtually and help determine what changes will make the biggest difference.

Why Escambia County Homes Need a Local Accessibility Team

Escambia County stretches from established and suburban communities around Pensacola to more rural areas in the north, so accessibility needs can vary greatly depending on the age, location, and layout of the home.

Established Homes & Varied Entries

Escambia County includes older neighborhoods, established residential communities, and newer development. Depending on the property, families may be dealing with raised porches, exterior steps, narrow entrances, or longer approaches to the home. We provide ramps, vertical platform lifts, handrails, grab bars, and entry modifications designed around the actual property.

Coming home from the hospital or rehab

When someone is returning to an Escambia County home after a hospital or rehab stay, stairs and entrances that were manageable before can suddenly become major barriers. We work with families, case managers, and discharge planners to identify accessibility needs and help prepare the home for a safer return.

Steps Between the Garage & Home

Even a few steps between the driveway, garage, porch, and main living area can become a serious obstacle when balance, strength, or mobility changes. We help Escambia County homeowners create safer everyday access with ramps, handrails, grab bars, and other accessibility solutions based on how they actually move through the home.

Hurricanes, Heavy Rain & Flooding

Escambia County’s Northwest Florida location means homes can face high humidity, heavy rainfall, tropical storms, hurricanes, and flooding concerns in some areas. Outdoor accessibility equipment needs to be selected with those conditions in mind. We install aluminum ramps and weather-rated lift solutions designed for long-term use in the local climate.

Founded by a Registered Nurse and Medical Social Worker.

Harbin Home Outfitters was founded by James Harbin, MSW, MSN, RN, after his grandfather passed away from a preventable fall.

That background changes how we work. Before we recommend anything, we look at how you actually move through your home. How you get in from the car. How you get to the bathroom at 2 a.m. What happens on a bad day, not just a good one.

Sometimes the answer is a full ramp or a lift. Sometimes it is a few hundred dollars of grab bars in the right spots. We will tell you the truth either way, because that is what we would want someone to do for our own family.
